Kembell Woods & Martinsen is pleased to announce that Alice M. Haseltine, a partner in KWM’s Overland Park office, has been elected as a Fellow of The American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC).

ACTEC Fellowship is reserved for attorneys whose bodies of work reflect sustained excellence in trust and estate law. To qualify for membership, a lawyer must have no fewer than ten years’ experience in the active practice of probate and trust law. Fellows are selected through a peer‑driven process that evaluates professional reputation, technical proficiency, and meaningful contributions to the practice, including leadership, writing, teaching, and service within the profession.

Haseltine’s practice centers on estate planning and trust and estate administration, with a particular emphasis on tax‑oriented wealth‑transfer planning. She advises individuals, families, and fiduciaries on estate and tax matters at every stage—from initial planning to complex post‑mortem administration—often involving significant tax considerations and multigenerational planning goals. She also represents fiduciaries in trust and probate proceedings across Missouri and Kansas, including matters involving trust modifications and complex estates.

“Being elected to ACTEC is incredibly meaningful,” said Haseltine. “I’m grateful for the guidance and collaboration I’ve received from colleagues and mentors over the years, and I’m honored to become part of an organization that plays such an important role in shaping the future of trust and estate practice.”

Beyond her client work, Haseltine is deeply involved in professional education. A graduate of the ACTEC Heart of America Fellows Institute, she writes and speaks regularly on estate planning and fiduciary topics and has participated in efforts to modernize trust legislation in Missouri. She previously served as chair of the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association’s Estate Planning and Probate Committee and remains active in local and regional estate planning organizations. She has been recognized by Missouri & Kansas Super Lawyers as a “Rising Star” for multiple years.

Haseltine earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Missouri School of Law, where she completed a tax law concentration with honors and was elected to the Order of the Coif. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and is admitted to practice law in both Missouri and Kansas.

Haseltine is the eighth KWM attorney to be elected to ACTEC, reflecting the firm’s longstanding focus on leadership in estate planning, trust administration, and private client services.
