Experience
Disputed trusts and estates present unique challenges: the law is complex; the financial stakes are high; and the issues are personal. As a trust and estate specialist, Josh represents beneficiaries, trustees, and other fiduciaries in the administration of trusts and estates, in both routine and contested matters. Josh is especially recognized for his counsel in guardianship and conservatorship proceedings. Josh understands the delay and expense of a lawsuit, preferring a sensible, informed, and problem-solving attitude to unnecessary fights in court. But when litigation is unavoidable, Josh is a committed advocate, from case analysis to trial. Josh’s experience includes will and trust contests; contested probate estates; modifying irrevocable trusts; creditor claims; and disputes regarding power of attorney documents. Outside the courtroom, Josh routinely assists the everyday family, from the young professional to the business owner, with establishing an estate plan to protect and preserve their assets as life unfolds. Josh is a graduate of the American College of Trusts and Estates Council (ACTEC) Heart of America Fellows Institute. Josh is a member of the Probate and Trust Steering Committee of the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis (BAMSL), and regularly volunteers to present and publish on the modern issues of his practice area.
